Ricky van Wolfswinkel said goodbye to the supporters before the home match against Feyenoord on Sunday. The striker moved to Sporting Lisbon last summer and was welcomed back by technical director Foeke Booy and supporters club chairman Hans van Maanen.
Van Wolfswinkel received a silver token of the city of Utrecht from Booy. The striker said last year's home game against Celtic in the Europa League (4-0, with three goals by Van Wolfswinkel) was his best in an FC Utrecht shirt. “I hope to see you again", he said to the crowd in Stadium Galgenwaard. "FC Utrecht is my club in the Netherlands.”
